The Musicology Of Min. Michael E. Fletcher
And The Michael Fletcher Chorale

The Michael Fletcher Chorale was founded in July 1982 through a vision.  Under the leadership of their founder and director, Michael E. Fletcher, the Chorale has maintained a unique artistry and style of music ministry that is second to none.  The Michael Fletcher Chorale consists of a group of saved and anointed artists who minister with conviction as they spread the love of God through song and tell the world that “Jesus still saves.”

The Michael Fletcher Chorale has participated with national organizations such as the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, the Gospel Music Workshop of America and Bishop Paul S. Morton and the Full Gospel Baptist Convention.  The music ministry of this aggregation has taken them across the length and breadth of the United States.  The Chorale has also had the opportunity to minister with gospel legends such as Pastor Walter Hawkins, Yolanda Adams, Minister Kirk Franklin and the Family, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Donald Lawrence and the Tri-City Singers, the late Reverend James Moore, Douglas Miller, Wanda Nero Butler, the Clark Sisters, Evangelist Dorinda Clark-Cole and Evangelist Dorothy Norwood.

In their 25 year history, The Michael Fletcher Chorale has had the distinct honor of recording three music projects on the Sound of Gospel label, Jesus…He’s the One, The Michael Fletcher Chorale Live produced by the late Maestro Thomas A. Whitfield and Highest Praise produced by Pastor Rudolph Stanfield Jr.  In 2000, the Chorale was privileged to record with Evangelist Dorinda Clark-Cole on her first live solo project on the GospoCentric record label.  In August 2002, the Chorale was featured as the Detroit Super Choir with Dr. Bobby Jones during the BET Road show tapings.  In September 2002, the Chorale celebrated 20 years of music ministry with a reunion concert held at Galilee Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan.

In summary, during the past 25 years God has done wonderful and miraculous things for the Michael Fletcher Chorale. Through faith, perseverance, determination and much prayer they will continue to “Look and Live.”

In addition to Michael’s extensive choral directing ability, he is also a renowned vocalist.  His vocal training began in the Detroit Public School system, where he was a featured soloist at school assemblies and participated with glee clubs and choirs throughout his educational years.  Michael has had the privilege to be mentored by music greats such as Brazeal W.
